In 2020 full of crisis, “Matches” was rescheduled from April to December 2020. Yet the live performance was still impossible due to pandemic, an online live stream was arranged instead. But on the second day of move in, we are notified that government is closing venue on 10 December (Thursday). Under hard work of different parties, the broadcast video was released in 3 days on the original performance day of 12 December. The 2 hrs 30 mins full length online broadcast was well received by audiences. Still we do admit it was not perfect due to tight schedule under uncontrollable factors. In order to let audience have a more comprehensive, deeper experience with “Matches”, a Director’s Edition will be released. The Director’s Edition retains the superb performances of performers with more intense atmosphere and clearer concept. Those who have watched once can recall the impact of “Matches” while those who haven’t can have another chance to experience it. Seize the chance and get your ticket now!

Audience who have purchased “Matches” tickets can reclaim access to the broadcast and start at 19:45 on 12 Dec. Archive of the performance is also available for viewing from 00:00 to 23:59 on 13 Dec 2020.

In view of the closure of Hong Kong Cultural Centre under Hong Kong Government’s restriction on theatre’s public attendance and social distancing, Y-Space regrettably announces that “Matches”‘s performance and live stream in Hong Kong Cultural Centre Studio Theatre will be cancelled. Instead, the global premiere broadcast of “Matches” is scheduled on the same date.
