Inspired by the life and works of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, Helen Lai creates a series of tableaux-dansants based on the paintings My Birth, The Wounded Table, The Two Fridas, Memory and What the Water Gave Me.
Frida was premiered in Hong Kong in 1996 by the City Contemporary Dance Company and was re-staged in Taipei by The Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan in the same year.
